Minor Hotels runs Anantara, Avani, Elewana, Oaks, NH Hotels, NH Collection, nhow and Tivoli. Its booking terms, dated August 1, 2026, tie the booking, the card and your ID to one name. Here is what that means for a deposit, the special rules in Australia and New Zealand, and how to prepay a Minor-brand stay in crypto.

**Quick answer — Does Minor Hotels accept crypto, debit cards or cash?**

Not crypto: Minor's terms, dated August 1, 2026, name no coin. They require a valid credit card in your own name at booking, and the same card at check-in. It must match your passport or ID card. In Australia and New Zealand, cash is refused as a bond. **StaySats** can prepay the room in crypto, not the deposit.

## What do Minor's booking terms say about payment?

One name, one credit card. Minor's terms say a valid credit card is required at the time of booking. Minor will not accept a card that is not in your name: the card and the booking must carry the same name.

On the website, a payment gateway collects and encrypts the card details. Prices shown in other currencies are an indication only; you pay the amount in your booking confirmation. On October 12, 2026, the terms named no cryptocurrency.

## Can someone else pay for your Anantara or NH room?

Not with an online booking under Minor's own terms. The booking must be in the name of the person who checks in, and the card must be in that same name. At check-in, the card used for the booking must match the ID you show.

So a parent or an employer cannot simply type their card for you on the website. If a third party sold the booking, its own terms may differ. Ask the hotel before anyone pays for you.

## What deposit does a Minor hotel take at check-in?

A pre-authorization on your credit card, if the hotel decides to take one. Minor's terms say it covers incidental charges and any damage during your stay. Once taken, the amount cannot be released, removed or lowered until the final bill is processed at departure.

After that, your bank decides when the money is free again. Paying ahead with StaySats does not remove the hotel's incidental deposit at check-in. Compare release times across groups on our [check-in without a credit card](https://staysats.com/check-in-without-credit-card/) page.

## Do Oaks and other Minor hotels in Australia take cash?

Not for the bond. The Australia and New Zealand section of Minor's terms says cash is not an acceptable form of bond or deposit. Hotels there may pre-authorize every credit card at check-in, with a $1 hold. Your bank controls the release, which may take up to 10 working days.

Card fees changed recently. From October 1, 2026, Minor charges no card service fee on Visa, Mastercard, EFTPOS or Amex in Australia. In New Zealand, onsite card payments carry a fee from 2% to 3.35%, depending on the card.

## What ID does a Minor hotel ask for?

A valid and current passport, or a government-issued ID card. Minor's terms add that the booking card must match that document. Only adults under the law of the hotel's country may book; in Australia and New Zealand, that means 18 or over.

Children under that age must stay with a parent or another authorized guardian. National law adds its own register rules, such as the police report in Italy: see [hotel ID rules by country](https://staysats.com/hotel-id-rules/).
