Six coins on five networks, in seven coin-and-network pairs. They are BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH, SOL on Solana and LTC on Litecoin. No Monero, no Lightning, no card and no bank transfer. Each pair has its own page under [pay with crypto](https://staysats.com/pay/). ### Should I use USDT on TRC-20 or on ERC-20? Use the network where your USDT already is. Both credit the same dollar amount and the hotel price does not change. TRC-20 needs 20 confirmations and its fee is paid in TRX; ERC-20 needs 12 confirmations and its fee is paid in ETH. You can top up more than once, and top-ups add up on one balance in US dollars. Unused balance never expires. For a stay that costs more than your balance, top up the difference before checkout. ### Who pays the network fee? You do, as the sender, on top of the amount shown on the payment page. The fee is paid in the network's own asset, such as TRX on Tron or ETH on Ethereum. The hotel price is the same in every coin. ### What if I send crypto on the wrong network? It does not top up your balance, and the funds may be lost. The payment page names one network per address: compare it with the network chosen in your wallet or exchange before you confirm. If it already happened, write to support@staysats.com with the transaction ID. ## Booking ### How do I book a hotel with crypto? Top up from $25, search a city and dates, and choose a room and a rate. Then check out with the lead guest's name and an email address. At checkout the exact total of the stay is set aside on your balance but not spent. It is charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. If we cannot confirm the booking, the full amount returns to your available balance at once, with nothing to claim. ### Do I need to create an account? No form to fill in. Your account number is created at your first top-up and works as your login. No email is needed to top up; each booking needs an email address, used for the voucher, changes and cancellation, and never published or sold. Keep the account number private, because it opens your balance and your bookings. ### Can I book a room for another person? Yes. Enter the person who will check in as the lead guest, with the name on the ID they will show at the desk. The hotel registers that person and may ask them for a deposit for extras. ## Bookings made on request ### What does "on request" mean at StaySats? It means our team books each room for you after checkout. The search finds prices live for your dates. When you check out, the exact total shown is held on your balance, not charged. We then book the room with the hotel and confirm the final total. Your balance is charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. A price found live can change by the time we book with the hotel. If the hotel confirms a higher total, we show it to you before anything is charged. Nothing extra is ever taken from your balance without your agreement. A released amount can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC. ### What if you cannot confirm my booking? The full amount is released to your balance, with nothing to claim. This happens when the room is no longer available, or when we cannot confirm the booking in time. The amount was only held, so nothing was charged. You can book another hotel with it, or ask to withdraw it in USDT or USDC. Your booking page shows each step as it happens, from the hold to the hotel confirmation number. Once a median is measured, it will be published with its date in the [changelog](https://staysats.com/changelog/). ## Price ### Is the listed price the final total? Not until the hotel confirms it. The listed price is found live for your dates, in US dollars. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them. We confirm the final total with the hotel before you are charged. No. There is no booking fee or card surcharge on top of the price found live, and no extra cost for any coin. The amount charged is the final total confirmed with the hotel before you are charged. Your only other cost is the network fee of your top-up, paid to the network. ### Can the price change after I check out? Yes, before the hotel confirms, but never without your agreement. A price found live may differ from the total the hotel confirms. In that case you accept the new total or have the full amount released. Once the hotel confirmation number is issued, the amount charged is the total you agreed to. ### Does paying with Bitcoin cost more than paying with USDT? No. Hotel prices are in US dollars and identical in every coin. Only the network fee differs, and you pay it to the network. With BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC, the crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes on the payment page. ### Is StaySats cheaper than other booking sites? We make no such claim. Our price is the price found live for your dates. We have not run a dated price comparison yet. If we publish one, it will carry its date and method. ## At the hotel ### Will the hotel ask for my ID? Yes, at check-in, as local law requires; we do not ask you for it. In Japan, foreign guests with no address in Japan show their passport for a copy. Paying ahead with StaySats does not remove the hotel's incidental deposit at check-in. Your room is prepaid, but many hotels ask for a card or a cash deposit to cover extras, and release it after you leave. Some accept cash, some do not. Only a local tax collected on site, if the city has one, and the extras you use. Any such tax is confirmed with your booking, together with the final total of the stay. The room itself is already paid through StaySats. ### Can I pay the hotel in crypto at the desk? Not through us. Pay StaySats in crypto; we pay the hotel in local currency. Very few hotels take crypto themselves, and in some countries, such as Indonesia or Turkey, paying in crypto on the spot is illegal. Both are needed: the number identifies the booking at the hotel, and the ID proves you are the lead guest. The number is on your booking page as soon as it is issued. ## Cancellations and refunds ### What happens if the hotel cancels my booking? You get 100% of the stay back and you choose the form: USDT or USDC within 7 days of your request, or balance credit. Credit is never imposed on you when the hotel is the one that cancels. [Refunds](https://staysats.com/refunds/). ### Can I cancel a booking myself? Yes, under the rate rules confirmed with your booking. Ask from the booking in your account. On a refundable rate, the hotel's refund minus its penalty goes to your balance as credit. A non-refundable rate refunds nothing. ### Is the refund in crypto or in credit? Money from a failed booking, a declined price increase or a hotel cancellation can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC. Money from a cancellation you chose comes back as balance credit, which never expires. ### Can I withdraw my unused balance? No. Only some amounts can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC. They are amounts released because a booking can't be confirmed or you declined a price increase, and refunds when the hotel can't host you. The rest of the balance is not refundable but never expires, so top up what you plan to spend. ### How do I ask for a refund? From the booking in your account, or by email to support@staysats.com with your booking reference. Never send your account number. For a withdrawal, choose USDT or USDC, the network, and an address you control; it may be screened against sanctions lists. ## Privacy and ID ### Is booking a hotel with crypto on StaySats private? The checkout is private: no ID upload and no selfie. We ask for an email address only for the voucher, changes and cancellation. But blockchain payments are public, and the hotel receives the lead guest's name and checks ID at check-in. Private checkout does not mean that nobody knows who stays. ### Is there KYC? No KYC to top up or at checkout: we ask for no ID document. Hotel ID rules still apply at the front desk, where local law makes the hotel check your ID. Guest names are screened against sanctions lists before booking. ### What personal data do you keep? Your account number, your top-ups, your bookings, the lead guest's name, your email address, and any withdrawal address. We keep no ID copy and no card data. We do not sell it and do not share it for advertising. The hotel may pass it to the authorities where local law requires a guest register. ### Will StaySats ever ask for my account number? No. We never ask for your account number, a passport scan or a selfie by email or chat. If someone asks in our name, it is not us. To identify a booking, support uses the booking reference. ## Destinations ### Where can I book hotels with StaySats? In most countries, through the live search on the [hotels page](https://staysats.com/hotels/). Our destination data covers 100 destinations, 97 of them on sale, and 66 have a hotel page. The live search shows the hotels we can request for your dates. ### Which countries can't I book? No hotels in Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Russia, Belarus, Syria, Crimea, Sevastopol or the Russian-occupied areas of Ukraine, because of sanctions. Hotels in Spain are not available yet. Spain's Royal Decree 933/2021 requires booking intermediaries to register and report guest and payment details within 24 hours. Our registration with SES.HOSPEDAJES is not done yet, so Spanish hotels are paused. The opening will be dated in the changelog. ### Can I use StaySats for a hotel in Bali or Istanbul? Yes. Paying in crypto on the spot is illegal in Indonesia and Turkey, but you pay StaySats online and we pay the hotel in local currency. At the hotel, pay extras in local money or by card. If you live there, check local law first. ### Do you have long stays for digital nomads? You can book any stay length the hotel offers, paid from your stablecoin balance. On long stays, read the cancellation rules confirmed with your booking; until then, treat the rate as non-refundable.
