Which crypto hotel booking site fits which traveller?

Pick on the fact that matters most to you.

  • You want crypto back if the hotel cancels: Travala pays USDT only for Binance Pay; plain crypto comes back as Travel Credits. StaySats pays USDT or USDC within 7 days.
  • You also need flights or car rentals: Travala, Travorio, KryptoMate, Cryptorefills or Crypto.com Travel. StaySats sells hotels only.
  • You hold an uncommon coin: KryptoMate (200+ coins, 20+ networks) or Travorio (100+ coins).
  • You pay with Lightning: Travala or Bitrefill. StaySats does not take Lightning.
  • You are a US resident and already chose the Airbnb: a Bitrefill Airbnb gift card, for stays under 28 nights.
  • You want to send USDT on Tron: Travala, KryptoMate, Cryptorefills and StaySats name Tron; check the network on the payment page.

If Travala is your starting point, read what to use instead of Travala. For how our own checkout works, read how it works and pricing.

Are crypto hotel sites more expensive than paying by card?

We do not know yet: no one publishes a measured comparison, and neither do we. Our only check, on October 12, 2026, could not be compared fairly. One site's price included taxes, and the other site did not say.

A fair test compares the total with taxes for the same room, date and cancellation terms. StaySats shows the price found live for your dates, in US dollars, for the whole stay. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them; the final total is confirmed with the hotel before you are charged. We will publish a measured price check, with its date and method, before we make any price claim.

Which sites did we leave out, and why?

We left out sites that do not sell hotels, are closed, publish too little to fill the six facts, or joined our registry later. As of October 12, 2026:

  • Added to the seller registry on October 13, 2026, not compared here yet: trip1, BitPay Travel, TravelSwap, IMPT and BitPay gift cards.
  • Flight-only sellers: Laters and Alternative Airlines. They are in the seller registry.
  • Closed or not launched: CheapAir (closed to the public in 2024), CryptoCribs (closed in 2021) and CoinBooking (pre-launch).
  • Too little published: Flyfi, launched in July 2026 with a sponsored press release; see Is Flyfi legit?.
  • Not tested: Destinia, a Spanish site that shows prices in mBTC. Its bitcoin page excludes cruises, car rentals and some hotels that take payment only at the property. We also did not test Sleap.io.
  • StaySats: we publish this page, so our service is shown apart, above.

Crypto hotel booking sites compared: FAQ

Which crypto hotel booking site should I use in 2026?

It depends on the refund you want. Travala publishes the most of our six facts and also sells flights, but it refunds plain crypto as Travel Credits. StaySats, which publishes this page, pays USDT or USDC when the hotel can't host you. We have not made test bookings yet, so we name no winner.

Why is StaySats not in the list?

Because we publish this page and sell hotel bookings paid in crypto. Ranking ourselves would not be fair to you. Our service is shown apart, with the same six facts and its limits. A site's place in the list is not a quality rating: it shows how much the site publishes.

How many travel sites accept crypto for hotels?

15 active sellers in our registry take crypto for hotels, as of October 13, 2026. They are Travala, Travorio, LockTrip, Cryptorefills, KryptoMate, Trip.com, Crypto.com Travel, Destinia, Entravel, Flyfi, trip1, Sleap, BitPay Travel, TravelSwap, and IMPT. The crypto travel seller registry gives each one's company, coins, refund rule and fees, with sources.

Which crypto hotel sites refund in crypto instead of credit?

Few say so on their own pages. Travala refunds crypto as Travel Credits, except Binance Pay (USDT) and Crypto.com Pay. Travorio's terms say crypto-to-crypto refunds are not guaranteed. LockTrip's terms refund crypto payments in USDC. StaySats pays USDT or USDC within 7 days when the hotel can't host you, or balance credit if you prefer. The rule of each other seller is in the crypto travel seller registry.

Which sites accept USDT on TRC-20 for hotels?

KryptoMate and Cryptorefills list Tron among their networks. Travala's payment options page has a USDT entry labelled TRC-20 in its code. Trip.com accepts USDT on Tron in some markets, per press reports. StaySats accepts USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20). Travorio, LockTrip and Bitrefill list USDT without naming its network on the pages we read.

Is Travala better than StaySats?

For some trips, yes. Travala sells flights, activities and car rentals, takes 129 payment options, including Lightning and cards, and has a loyalty program. StaySats sells hotels only and takes six coins. The main difference is the refund: Travala refunds crypto as Travel Credits, while StaySats pays USDT or USDC when the hotel can't host you.

Do I need ID to book a hotel with crypto?

Not at checkout on most crypto sites, but always at the hotel. LockTrip's terms require an account to see prices and book. Crypto.com Travel needs a Crypto.com account. Travala allows guest checkout, but its terms let it ask for ID at any time. StaySats asks for the lead guest's name and an email address, with no ID upload.

Can I book an Airbnb with crypto?

Not directly: Airbnb takes no crypto. The usual route is an Airbnb gift card bought with crypto on Bitrefill. It is for US residents with a US payment method, and not for stays of 28 nights or more. StaySats sells hotels, not Airbnb homes. Read our dated answer: Does Airbnb accept crypto?

Does Booking.com accept crypto?

No, not directly, as of October 2026. Booking.com takes no cryptocurrency at its own checkout. To pay a hotel in crypto, use a crypto booking site such as Travala, Travorio or StaySats. A gift card also works where the brand allows it. Our dated answer: Does Booking.com accept crypto?

How often is this comparison updated?

Every quarter, and sooner when a site changes its refund rules, payment methods or status. The current version was checked on October 12, 2026. Each change is logged in our changelog. The same facts, with a source for every row, are in the crypto travel seller registry.
