Pay for a hotel with each coin

One page per coin and network: confirmations, fee asset, address format, mistakes to avoid and which other crypto travel sites accept it.

Which coin should I choose for a hotel?

The one you already hold, on a network you know how to use. The hotel price is the same in every coin, so the choice is about convenience and the network fee:

  • USDT or USDC keep a value close to the US dollar between the moment you buy them and the top-up. They are also the coins of our refunds.
  • BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC are locked at a rate for 30 minutes on the payment page, then credited in US dollars. After that, their price moves no longer affect your balance.
  • USDT on Tron or on Ethereum? Both work at the same price; the fee asset and the confirmations differ. TRC-20 or ERC-20.

Which coins and networks are not accepted?

Anything not in the table above. The common mistakes:

  • USDT or USDC on another network, such as BNB Smart Chain (BEP-20), Polygon, Arbitrum, Base, Solana or TON.
  • Bitcoin over Lightning, wrapped BTC, or Bitcoin Cash.
  • Monero (XMR). Why, and what to use instead.
  • Tokens on Solana, such as USDC on Solana: on Solana we accept SOL only.

A transfer in a coin or on a network we don't accept does not top up your balance, and the funds may be lost.

Can I pay from an exchange?

Yes, with a normal withdrawal to the address on the payment page. On the withdrawal screen, choose the coin, then the network named on the payment page, then paste the address. Make sure the exact amount arrives: if the exchange takes its fee out of the amount, add the fee on top.

Payment buttons inside an exchange that do not create a blockchain transfer cannot reach our address. Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Check local rules.

How does a crypto top-up work, step by step?

  1. Top up $25 or more

Choose the amount and the coin (BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC). The crypto amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes.

  2. Send it to the address shown, on the exact network

The payment page shows our deposit address for the coin and network you picked: BTC on Bitcoin, USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), ETH on Ethereum, SOL on Solana, LTC on Litecoin. Send only that coin on that network: funds sent on another network or in another coin can’t be recovered. The network fee comes on top of the amount.

  3. Send the exact amount shown, then click “I’ve sent the payment”

Each top-up has its own exact amount (down to the last decimals): that is how your payment is found and matched to your account automatically. Nothing else to send us.

  4. Credited after the network confirmations

Your balance is credited once the network has confirmed the transaction. Usual times:

    CryptoNetworkConfirmationsUsual time
    BTCBitcoin2≈ 20 min
    USDTTron (TRC-20)20≈ 1 min
    USDTEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    USDCEthereum (ERC-20)12≈ 5 min
    ETHEthereum12≈ 5 min
    SOLSolana1≈ 1 min
    LTCLitecoin6≈ 15 min
  5. One balance for all your stays

Your balance pays your bookings: the amount of a booking is held at checkout and charged only when the booking is confirmed. What is left stays on your balance for your next trip. Unused balance stays on your account and never expires. Amounts released when a booking can't be confirmed, or refunded when the hotel can't host you, can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC; the rest of the balance is not refundable.

Paying for a hotel with crypto: FAQ

Can I combine two coins for one hotel booking?

Yes, through your balance. Each top-up is separate, in one coin on one network, and all top-ups add up on your balance in US dollars. A booking is then paid from the balance as a whole.

Can I pay with a card or a bank transfer?

No. StaySats accepts crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. There is no card payment, so there is no card surcharge, and there is no bank transfer.

How many confirmations does each coin need?

BTC 2, USDT on TRC-20 20, ERC-20 tokens and ETH 12, SOL 1 and LTC 6. Your balance is credited in US dollars once the network reaches that number. The usual time for each network is in the payment table on this page.

Is there a fee for paying in crypto?

No booking fee or card surcharge is added on top, and the hotel price is the same in every coin. You pay the network fee of your transfer to the network, in its own asset. That is TRX on Tron, ETH on Ethereum, and BTC, SOL or LTC on their own networks. We publish no fee figure until we have measured one.

What if I close the payment page before sending?

The pending top-up stays in your account, under Billing: open it to see the address and the exact amount again. The amount and its rate are locked for 30 minutes, so check the top-up in Billing before you send after a long pause.

Which coins can my refund be paid in?

USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), or USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20), whatever coin you topped up with. You can also keep a withdrawable amount as balance credit. Refunds.

Do you accept BNB Smart Chain or Polygon?

No. For USDT we accept Tron (TRC-20) and Ethereum (ERC-20) only, and for USDC, Ethereum only. BNB Smart Chain and Polygon use the same 0x address format as Ethereum, so check the network name before you confirm a withdrawal.

Do I need an account or ID to pay?

No ID upload and no selfie. Your account number is created at your first top-up, with no email needed; each booking needs an email address. The hotel checks your ID at check-in, as local law requires.
