Does Booking.com accept bitcoin or USDT?
No. Booking.com's FAQ for its partners answers the question "Which payment methods can I offer?" on its Payments by Booking.com page. On October 12, 2026, every property could take cards and cash. Properties that joined Payments by Booking.com could also offer wallets and pay-later methods. The list: PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay, WeChat, iDEAL, Venmo, Klarna, Affirm, PayPal Credit and Booking.com Wallet credits.
Bitcoin, USDT, USDC and other coins are not on that list. Booking.com adds that the methods can differ by country and by property type. Its developer documentation on payment methods names no crypto method either.
Can I pay the hotel in crypto at check-in for a Booking.com reservation?
Not through Booking.com. For a reservation you pay at the property, the methods Booking.com lists for every property are cards and cash. For bookings that are not paid in advance, Booking.com also validates your card for the property.
A few hotels take crypto at their own desk. That would be the hotel's own arrangement, outside Booking.com's payment options. If you plan to try it, ask the hotel in writing before you travel. Keep a card or cash for the guarantee and for extras. Our check-in without a credit card guide explains deposits at the front desk.
Can you book on Booking.com without a credit card?
At some properties. Booking.com's FAQ says most properties need a valid card to guarantee a reservation, but some guarantee it without one.
Its partner help explains the setting, called credit card exceptions. A property can turn it on for domestic guests, same-day or next-day bookers, or bookings made within a window it chooses. Those guests are not asked for payment details, and the property arranges payment with them directly. For same-day or next-day bookings, the cancellation policy becomes fully flexible. In other cases, a late cancellation or a no-show can still cost the fee in the property's policy. The property collects it from the guest itself. What was the 2019 deal between Booking.com and Travala?
It let another website sell Booking.com listings for crypto; Booking.com itself took no crypto. On November 29, 2019, Hospitality Net reported that Travala.com had signed a partnership with Booking.com and integrated its listings in 90,000 destinations. Travala customers could then pay with Travala's AVA token and 20 other cryptocurrencies.
A booking made that way is a Travala booking, under Travala's checkout and refund rules. Booking.com's own checkout did not change. We did not check whether the supply deal still runs in 2026. To compare crypto hotel sites, see alternatives to Travala for hotels and the crypto travel seller registry.
Can I use a crypto card on Booking.com?
Yes, if the card is accepted like any other Visa or Mastercard. Booking.com's partner FAQ says properties can take credit, debit and prepaid cards. A card funded from crypto converts your coins at the moment of payment, so Booking.com never sees the crypto.
Watch the timing. On a pay-at-property booking, the hotel may charge the card when you arrive, or place a hold for extras. With a crypto card, that hold blocks money on your card until it is released. Card issuers add conversion costs and usually check your ID before issuing a card. Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Check local rules.
Is there a Booking.com gift card I can buy with crypto?
We did not find one on October 12, 2026. The crypto gift card reseller we checked, Bitrefill, sells cards for Airbnb, Hotels.com and hotel gift card brands, but we found none for Booking.com. A hotel gift card from another brand is spent on that brand's own website, not on Booking.com. More on the gift card route: gift cards or a hotel booked in crypto.
How do I book a hotel with crypto instead?
Book it with StaySats, which takes crypto directly. Top up from $25 in USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20, USDC on ERC-20, BTC, ETH, SOL or LTC. Then search your city and dates.
Prices are found live for your dates, in US dollars. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them. Local taxes paid at the hotel, such as a city tax, are confirmed with your booking.
At checkout, the total is held on your balance. Bookings are made on request: we book the room with the hotel and confirm the final total. Your balance is charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. If we can't confirm, the full amount is released at once. StaySats has no partnership with Booking.com. Read how it works and the pricing rules.
Booking.com and crypto: questions
Will Booking.com add crypto payments?
We found no announcement on a Booking.com page as of October 12, 2026. Its partner FAQ lists cards, cash, wallets such as PayPal and Apple Pay, and pay-later options such as Klarna and Affirm. We review this row every month and will change its status only when Booking.com publishes a crypto method.
Can I book Booking.com hotels with bitcoin?
Not on Booking.com. Since 2019, Travala has offered Booking.com listings on its own site, paid in crypto, under Travala's rules. StaySats is a different seller with no Booking.com partnership. We sell hotel bookings paid in BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. Each room is booked on request with the hotel, at the price found live for your dates.
Does Booking.com accept PayPal?
At many properties, yes. Booking.com's partner FAQ says properties that join Payments by Booking.com may offer PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Alipay and other methods. Properties that did not join take cards and cash. The options you see depend on the property and your country.
Is Booking.com Wallet a crypto wallet?
No. Booking.com Wallet holds credits and rewards from Booking.com. It does not hold or accept bitcoin, USDT or any other coin. Booking.com lists Wallet credits next to cards and PayPal as a way to pay. To pay a hotel from a crypto balance, you need a seller that takes crypto.
Does Booking.com charge a damage deposit?
Booking.com does not, but a property may. Outside the United States, each property chooses a damage deposit that it collects and refunds itself, or a damage program handled by Booking.com. The house rules of the listing show which one applies before you book.
Do StaySats and Booking.com show the same price?
Not always, and we don't claim they do. StaySats shows the price found live for your dates, in US dollars. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them. We confirm the final total with the hotel before you are charged. Compare the total of the stay on both sites.
Can I check in without a credit card after paying in crypto?
Sometimes. A prepaid room is paid, but many hotels still ask for a card or a cash deposit for extras at check-in. Rules vary by hotel and chain. Our guide to checking in without a credit card lists the usual options.
