Quick answer
How do I book a Singapore hotel with crypto?
To book a Singapore hotel with crypto, top up a StaySats balance from $25, then book. The total of the stay is held, not charged, until the hotel confirmation number is issued. BTC Map lists only 10 places within 25 km of the city centre (October 12, 2026). Booking online before you travel is the practical route.

Do Singapore hotels accept crypto at the desk?
Rarely, as far as public data shows. BTC Map lists 10 places within 25 km of the centre, 0 of them hotels (October 12, 2026). 6 of those places were verified in 2025 or later. For a city of this size, that is a short list. Which hotel groups take crypto directly is tracked in our acceptance index.
Is paying in crypto legal in Singapore?
We found no ban on paying in crypto on the spot in Singapore. Its rules still shape what you see. Guidelines of January 17, 2022 from the Monetary Authority of Singapore ask crypto firms not to promote their services to the general public. That includes crypto ATMs in public places.
When you book with StaySats, the hotel never needs to accept crypto: we pay it in Singapore dollars. This is information, not legal advice.
Are taxes included in Singapore hotel prices?
On StaySats, yes: the tax is part of the hotel's price, and we confirm the final total, taxes included, before you are charged. Singapore charges 9% GST from January 1, 2024. Under the IRAS price display rule, hotels that add a service charge may show prices before GST and service charge, with a notice. That is why Singapore rates are often quoted with "++".
On StaySats, you see the price found live for your dates, in US dollars, for the whole stay. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them; the final total is confirmed with the hotel before you are charged. The GST and any mandatory service charge are part of the hotel's price. If the hotel collects a charge at the desk, it is confirmed with your booking. Extras such as room service are billed by the hotel at check-out.
Will a Singapore hotel ask for my passport?
Yes, every time. In a written reply on August 5, 2026, the Ministry of Home Affairs said all hotel guests must show a valid ID at check-in. This applies regardless of nationality, so that each guest can be identified and registered. For a foreign visitor, that document is your passport.
We send the hotel only the lead guest's name; there is no ID upload and no selfie at our checkout. Write that name exactly as on the passport. Many hotels also ask for a card pre-authorisation or a cash deposit for extras: see check-in without a credit card.
How do I get from Changi Airport to my hotel?
By MRT or by taxi. Changi Airport is about 22 km in a straight line from the city centre point we use. From Changi Airport MRT station (CG2), ride one stop to Tanah Merah (EW4), then take the East West Line towards Tuas Link for the city. The other option is the Downtown Line through Expo (CG1/DT35).
According to Changi Airport, the first train from the airport runs at 5:31 am from Monday to Saturday. On Sundays and public holidays, it runs at 5:59 am. The last train connecting to Tuas Link leaves at 11:18 pm. For a late arrival, a taxi or a ride-hailing car is simpler.
Which Singapore district should I stay in?
It depends on why you come:
- Marina Bay and the Downtown Core: the business district, around the Marina Bay Sands convention centre where TOKEN2049 takes place.
- Orchard Road: the main shopping street, on the North South and Thomson-East Coast MRT lines.
- Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar: old shophouse streets, temples and food centres, close to the business district.
- Bugis and Kampong Glam: the Sultan Mosque area, on the East West and Downtown lines.
- Little India: smaller hotels and busy markets, on the North East and Downtown lines.
- Clarke Quay and Robertson Quay: riverside restaurants and bars below Fort Canning Park.
- Sentosa: island resorts, linked to the main island by road, cable car and monorail.
When is the next crypto conference in Singapore?
TOKEN2049 Singapore took place on October 7–8, 2026 at Marina Bay Sands. As of October 12, 2026, its official site lists no date for 2027. Dates, venues and nearby districts for the next events worldwide are on crypto conference hotels. When the 2027 date appears, search early: Marina Bay hotels are the closest to the venue. Treat the rate as non-refundable until the hotel confirms its cancellation rules.
