How does StaySats handle a 30-night booking?

Exactly like a 2-night booking, with a larger amount held. At checkout, the exact total of the stay is held on your balance. Bookings are made on request: our team makes the booking with the hotel and confirms the final total. Your balance is charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. If we cannot confirm in time, the full amount is released to your balance.

If the confirmed total is higher, you choose: accept the new total, or have the amount released. Nothing extra is ever taken without your agreement. Taxes and fees are included in the price when the hotel publishes them. Local taxes paid at the hotel are confirmed with your booking.

What should I check before booking a month in a hotel?

A long stay multiplies the cost of a wrong detail, so check these points:

• Refundable or not: cancellation rules are confirmed with the hotel when it confirms your booking. Until then, treat the rate as non-refundable: a non-refundable month returns nothing if you leave early or do not arrive.
• The cancellation deadline: once confirmed, it is on your voucher, usually in the hotel's local time. After it, the hotel's penalty applies.
• The deposit: hotels may hold a card or ask for cash for extras. On a long stay, ask how much, and when it is returned.
• Local taxes: some are charged per night with a cap, as in Lisbon; others once per visit, as in Bali.
• Your permitted stay: the booking should end before your visa or visa-free stay does. See digital nomads.
• Services: cleaning frequency, laundry and kitchen access vary by hotel. Ask the hotel before you commit.
• The lead guest's name: write it as on the passport you will show at check-in.

Can I pay a month on Airbnb with crypto?

Not with the usual gift card route. The reseller's copy of the US Airbnb gift card terms excludes reservations of 28 nights or longer. The US card is also only for US residents with a US payment method. Airbnb's own US terms page does not state the 28-night limit, so check before you buy (checked October 12, 2026).

Can I pay for a month in Bali with USDT?

Yes, online with StaySats, but not on the spot. Indonesian law lets people hold crypto as an asset but not use it to pay (Law 7/2011 on Currency). In May 2023, Bali announced sanctions against foreign tourists who pay in crypto. You pay us in USDT, and we pay the hotel in rupiah.

Bali also charges foreign tourists a levy of IDR 150,000, paid once per visit through the provincial Love Bali system, apart from the hotel bill. What is different for a month in Chiang Mai?

Paying merchants in crypto is restricted in Thailand. It is allowed only through the TouristDigiPay sandbox, announced on August 18, 2025, where tourists convert crypto to baht and merchants receive baht. Book online with USDT, and pay extras in baht or by card.

Chiang Mai lists 35 places on BTC Map within 25 km and 9 hotels; among our 100 destinations, only San Salvador lists more hotels. Under Section 38 of the Immigration Act, hotel managers must notify immigration of a foreign guest within one day (the TM30 notice). Chiang Mai International Airport (CNX) is about 3 km in a straight line from the city centre point we use. More on Chiang Mai hotels.

What should I know for a month in Medellín?

Medellín lists 135 places on BTC Map within 25 km, 130 of them verified in 2025 or later, but no hotel. We found no ban on paying in crypto on the spot in Colombia. With StaySats, you still pay us in crypto and we pay the hotel in pesos.

Colombia exempts residents abroad from VAT on hotel services from hotels listed in the National Tourism Register (Estatuto Tributario, article 481, d). The hotel checks that you live abroad, usually with your passport. Whether a prepaid rate already reflects the exemption depends on the hotel. How does Lisbon's tourist tax work on a long stay?

Lisbon charges a tourist tax of €4 per night for each guest aged 13 and over, for 7 nights at most per stay. On a 30-night stay, it is due for the first 7 nights only: €28 per guest. When the hotel collects it at the desk, it is confirmed with your booking.

Lisbon lists 53 places on BTC Map within 25 km, 34 of them verified in 2025 or later, and 3 hotels. Portugal's residence permit for remote workers is valid 2 years once granted, per the AIMA immigration agency. More on Lisbon hotels.

Can I book a long stay from Argentina or Nigeria?

Yes. A long stay is booked the same way from Buenos Aires or Lagos as from anywhere else. You pay from your crypto balance, and we pay the hotel in local currency. What happens if I leave early or the hotel cancels?

The rate rules decide what you get back when you change plans. If you leave early, what comes back depends on the hotel and the rate, and any amount the hotel refunds goes back to your balance. A non-refundable rate returns nothing. If the hotel can't host you, you get 100% of the stay back. You choose USDT or USDC within 7 days of your request, or balance credit.
