How do I pay for a hotel abroad with USDT on TRC-20?
Six steps, from your USDT to the hotel desk.
Have USDT on Tron (TRC-20)
Use an exchange or a wallet that sends USDT on the Tron network. If you send from your own wallet, keep a little TRX: Tron network fees are paid in TRX.
Top up your StaySats balance
Choose an amount from $25, pick USDT on TRC-20, and copy the address shown on the payment page.
Send on TRC-20 only
After 20 confirmations, your balance is credited in USD. Funds sent on another network may be lost.
Search and book
Choose the city, the dates and the guests. The exact total is held on your balance, not charged, while we request the booking from the hotel.
Get the confirmation number
Your balance is charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. If we can't confirm the booking in time, the amount is released.
Check in with your ID
The hotel checks your ID as local law requires and may ask for a card or a cash deposit for extras.

Live prices in USD for the whole stay; taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them. Bookings are made on request: nothing is charged until the hotel confirmation number is issued, and a higher total needs your agreement.
What do hotels in Brazil ask for at check-in?
A digital guest form. Brazil's Ministry of Tourism replaced the paper guest form with the FNRH Digital (Ficha Nacional de Registro de Hóspedes). Hotels, pousadas and hostels had to adopt it by April 20, 2026.
Foreign guests need no CPF and no gov.br account. The system has modules in English and Spanish, and the hotel enters your passport or other international ID. You can often fill in the form before you arrive, through a link or a QR code sent by the hotel.
The form goes to the government, not to us. StaySats asks only for the lead guest's name and an email address. If you travel with your DNI, ask the hotel which document it will record.
Should I send USDT on TRC-20 or ERC-20?
Both work. USDT on TRC-20 is credited after 20 confirmations, and USDT on ERC-20 after 12. Network fees differ by network and change from day to day; we will publish measured fees once we have them. Whatever you choose, send USDT only to the address shown for that network. The full comparison is on TRC-20 or ERC-20 for hotels.
Which destinations can I book from Argentina?
97 of our 100 destinations are on sale. Nearby, you can book Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Florianópolis in Brazil, as well as Santiago and Lima. Further away: Miami, Orlando, New York, Cancún and Punta Cana.
Madrid and Barcelona are not available yet. Spanish law makes booking intermediaries report guest and payment details within 24 hours, and our registration with SES.HOSPEDAJES is not done. The reason is on where we can't sell hotels.
At home, BTC Map lists 86 places within 25 km of central Buenos Aires, 16 of them verified in 2025 or later. Florianópolis lists 45 places and 4 hotels, and Rio de Janeiro 35 places.
Will the hotel ask for a card or a deposit?
Often, yes, for extras. We ask only for the lead guest's name and an email address: there is no ID upload at our checkout. At the hotel, staff check your passport or ID as local law requires.
Many hotels also ask for a card or a cash deposit for extras, even when the room is prepaid. If you prefer not to use a card, ask the hotel before you arrive whether it accepts a cash deposit. Hotel group rules are on check-in without a credit card.
What happens if the hotel cancels or the price changes?
You do not lose your USDT. Bookings are made on request, and we confirm the final total with the hotel. If it is higher than the amount held, you accept the new total or have the amount released. If we cannot confirm the booking in time, the full amount is released to your balance.
If the hotel can't host you, you get 100% of the stay back. You choose USDT or USDC within 7 days of your request, or balance credit. Released or refunded amounts can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC. If you cancel a refundable rate yourself, what the hotel refunds, minus its penalty, goes back to your balance. All cases: refunds.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a gov.br account for a hotel in Brazil?
No. Brazil's Ministry of Tourism says foreign guests need neither a CPF nor a gov.br account for the digital guest form. The form has English and Spanish modules, and the hotel records your passport or other international ID. The form is the hotel's legal duty; StaySats never sees it.
How long does a USDT TRC-20 top-up take?
Your balance is credited once the transaction has 20 confirmations on the Tron network. We publish no average time until we have measured it. Once the balance is credited in USD, you can book. The total of the stay is held, then charged when the hotel confirmation number is issued.
Can I book a hotel in Brazil from Argentina with USDT?
Yes. Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Florianópolis are on sale. You pay StaySats in USDT, and we pay the hotel in reais. Local taxes paid at the hotel, if any, are confirmed with your booking. Bring the ID you travel with: the hotel records it in the digital guest form.
Why can't I book a hotel in Madrid or Barcelona?
Because hotels in Spain are not available on StaySats yet. Royal Decree 933/2021 makes booking intermediaries register with SES.HOSPEDAJES and report guest and payment details within 24 hours. Our registration is not done. We will announce the change in our changelog when Spanish hotels open.
Do you ask for my DNI or passport when I book?
No. We ask for the lead guest's name and an email address. There is no ID upload and no selfie at checkout. Write the name exactly as on the document you will show, because the hotel checks your ID at check-in as local law requires.
Can I pay in pesos, by card or by bank transfer?
No. StaySats takes crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. We do not accept cards, bank transfers, Monero or Lightning. Your balance is kept in USD once your crypto is confirmed, and unused balance never expires. Each top-up starts at $25, and released or refunded amounts can be withdrawn in USDT or USDC.
What if the hotel cancels my booking?
If the hotel can't host you, you get 100% of the stay back. You choose: USDT or USDC within 7 days of your request, or a credit on your StaySats balance. If the hotel never confirmed the booking, the amount held is released to your balance at once.
Is paying for a hotel in crypto taxable in Argentina?
Paying in crypto may be a taxable event in your country. Check local rules. We do not give tax advice: ask a contador (accountant) about your own situation, including any gains on the crypto you spend. Keep a record of each top-up and booking, with the date and the amount.
