Why do people look for a Travala alternative?
As of October 2026, four points on Travala's own pages matter when you compare.
- Crypto refunds become Travel Credits. Its help center says a crypto payment is refunded as Travel Credits. They "cannot be redeemed for cash, cryptocurrency, or any other form of consideration" and are not transferable.
- The USDT network is not always clear. Its payment options page lists USDT on BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum, TON and KAIA. It also shows a plain "USDT" entry that the page's code labels TRC-20. Its USDT page names only ERC-20.
- Compliance clauses. Its terms let Travala apply "Compliance Requirements" at any time. It may freeze or hold assets until they are met (clauses 4.4 to 4.6 and 8.4).
- Rewards tied to a token. Its higher giveback tiers require holding its AVA token.
None of this is unusual for a large seller. It simply matters if you want your crypto back after a cancellation.

When is Travala the better choice?
Travala is the better choice in several cases, and we say so plainly.
- You need more than a hotel. Travala sells flights, activities and car rentals. StaySats sells hotels only.
- You pay with Lightning, a card or Binance Pay. Travala takes 129 payment options. A Binance Pay payment is refunded in USDT, so the Travel Credit rule does not apply to it.
- You collect rewards. Its AVA Smart program pays givebacks of up to 10% on the Diamond tier, per its help center.
- You prefer a large seller. Travala reported over $113 million of gross revenue in 2025. It said 78% of its 2024 bookings were paid in crypto (company figures, reported by the press).
- You book through an AI assistant. Travala runs a booking connector (MCP) for AI agents.

Travala vs Booking.com: what changes when you pay in crypto?
Booking.com takes no crypto at its own checkout. Its partner FAQ lists cards, cash and wallets such as PayPal and Apple Pay, but no cryptocurrency (checked October 12, 2026). Travala takes 100+ cryptocurrencies.
The two are linked by history. In November 2019, Travala announced a partnership to sell Booking.com listings for crypto, per Hospitality Net. We did not find whether it is still active. If you book through Travala and pay in plain crypto, a refund comes back as Travel Credits, not crypto.
Travala vs Trip.com: paying a hotel in USDT
Both can take USDT for a hotel, in different ways.
- Trip.com offers USDT and USDC for prepaid bookings in some markets, shown by your IP address, per the South China Morning Post (December 29, 2025). Mainland China is excluded. Its own payment-methods page, updated June 25, 2026, does not list stablecoins. We found no stablecoin refund rule.
- Travala lists USDT on several networks, for anyone outside the places its terms block. A refund of plain crypto comes back as Travel Credits; a Binance Pay payment comes back in USDT.

Can I get my Travala refund in crypto instead of Travel Credits?
Only if you paid with Binance Pay or Crypto.com Pay. Per Travala's help center, read on October 12, 2026, Binance Pay payments are refunded in USDT and Crypto.com Pay payments in the same crypto. Other crypto payments come back as Travel Credits, which cannot be redeemed for cash or crypto.
Is there a Travala alternative that refunds in USDT?
Yes. When the hotel can't host you, StaySats refunds 100% of the stay in USDT or USDC within 7 days of your request. You can choose balance credit instead. If you cancel a refundable rate yourself, the hotel's refund, minus its penalty, goes back to your balance as credit.
Is Travala cheaper than its alternatives?
We do not know yet. Our only check, on October 12, 2026, could not be compared: one price included taxes and the other did not say. When we publish a measured comparison, it will carry its date, its method and each site's total with taxes. StaySats shows the price found live for your dates, in US dollars, for the whole stay. Taxes and fees are included when the hotel publishes them; the final total is confirmed with the hotel before you are charged.
Does Travala accept USDT on TRC-20?
Yes, per the code of its payment options page: a plain "USDT" entry is labelled "USDT (Trc20)" there. The same page shows USDT on BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Solana, Arbitrum, TON and KAIA. Its USDT page names only ERC-20, so check the network on the Travala checkout before you send. StaySats accepts USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20).
Do Travala alternatives sell flights too?
