Which payment methods does Hilton list?

Four kinds, and no crypto. Hilton's help article "Payment for Hilton reservations", read on October 13, 2026, names:

  • Hilton Honors points, at all hotels, online and by phone.
  • Major credit or debit cards.
  • Be My Guest certificates, once you have checked in, except at Small Luxury Hotels (SLH) properties.
  • WeChat Pay and Alipay, at hotels in China.

Hilton's separate payment FAQ adds that accepted payment types can vary by location.

How much is the Hilton security deposit?

Hilton's group help pages name no fixed amount, as of October 13, 2026. The deposit is a hold on your card for extras. Hilton's payment FAQ asks this exact question: "I paid in advance for my stay. Why do I need a credit card to check in?" The answer: the hotel may hold your card for tips, food and drink, parking and other charges.

Each hotel sets its own figure, and some print it in the policies of their Hilton.com page. The table below shows three of them. At check-out you settle the bill, and Hilton says the hold is released within 72 hours. Some card providers take longer.

Paying ahead with StaySats does not remove the hotel's incidental deposit at check-in. If you have no credit card, read our check-in without a credit card table first.

Which Hilton hotels publish a security deposit amount?

Three examples, read on each hotel's own Hilton.com page on October 13, 2026. They are not a Hilton rule: each hotel sets its deposit and can change it.

Hotel (example)Deposit publishedCards for the depositRelease after check-outSource
DoubleTree by Hilton Washington DC - Crystal City (Arlington, Virginia)Room and tax, plus at least $100 a night for extrasCredit or debit cardUp to 10 business days, depending on your bankHotel policies
Hilton Minneapolis (Minnesota)Room and tax, plus $100 per room per day, up to $700Credit or debit card; prepaid cards not acceptedUp to 30 days, depending on your card company and bankHotel policies
Hilton Americas-Houston (Texas)A $100 pre-authorization for possible extrasCredit card named; debit cards not mentionedUp to 5 business days, depending on your bankHotel policies

The Crystal City hotel may approve more during your stay, based on your charges. Hilton Minneapolis says its deposit also covers possible damage. Ask your own hotel before you travel.

How do I find the deposit of my Hilton hotel?

Look at the hotel's own page on Hilton.com. Hilton's help center gives the path for hotel rules: open the hotel's website, then "All Policies" under "Hotel policies". The payment rules sit under "Our policies".

Hilton's payment FAQ also sends you to each hotel's policies section to see which payment types it accepts. When no figure is printed there, call the hotel before you book.

On a debit card, the hold blocks real money until your bank releases it. Keep the room total plus the deposit free in your account.

Can I pay for someone else's Hilton room?

Not with your own card at booking. Hilton says the card used for payment must match the name on the reservation. Its example is direct: you can't use your card to pay for another guest's stay.

This also matters for crypto cards. A crypto debit card in your name pays like any card, so it works only for your own stay. Your card provider may also ask you to confirm the payment with a code or app, as Hilton's payment FAQ explains.

Is there a crypto workaround for Hilton?

Not a direct one. On October 13, 2026, we found no Hilton gift card on Bitrefill, a gift card shop that takes crypto. Its travel list shows Best Western, Ritz-Carlton, Fairmont and Four Seasons cards, but not Hilton.

The working route is a booking site that takes crypto and pays the hotel in local currency. Our crypto acceptance index lists which groups and sites accept crypto, with dates and sources.

What ID does a Hilton hotel ask for?

Hilton publishes no group-wide ID rule. Its hotel policies page says the minimum age to register varies by hotel, and points to the check-in policy of each hotel.

The country's law sets the rest. A Hilton in Italy must report guests to the police within 24 hours. In the United Kingdom, every guest aged 16 or over gives a full name and nationality. Book in the exact name on your passport. Details by country: hotel ID rules.

How do I book a Hilton hotel with crypto through StaySats?

Search your city on StaySats; if a Hilton-brand hotel is in the live results, check out with your balance. Results show the prices found live at that moment, so no hotel is promised in advance.

Bookings are made on request: after checkout, we book the room with the hotel and confirm the final total. You pay StaySats in crypto, and we pay the hotel in local currency. The total is held on your balance and charged only when the hotel confirmation number is issued. The front desk may still ask you for a card or cash deposit for extras. Hilton and crypto: questions

Does Hilton accept bitcoin?

No. Hilton's payment help page, checked on October 13, 2026, lists Honors points, credit and debit cards and Be My Guest certificates. It adds WeChat Pay and Alipay in China, and no bitcoin. StaySats accepts BTC on-chain after 2 confirmations and pays the hotel in local currency.

Can I pay Hilton with USDT or USDC?

No. Hilton lists no stablecoin on any network. StaySats accepts USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or Ethereum (ERC-20), and USDC on Ethereum (ERC-20). Send USDT on TRC-20 only to the TRC-20 address shown: funds sent on another network may be lost.

Does Hilton accept debit cards?

Yes. Hilton accepts major credit and debit cards for stays booked online and by phone. Remember the hold at check-in: on a debit card it blocks real money. Hilton says the hold is released within 72 hours of check-out, though some providers take longer.

How much is the Hilton deposit per night?

Hilton sets no group figure, as of October 13, 2026: each hotel decides. DoubleTree Crystal City, near Washington, asks at least $100 a night on top of room and tax. Hilton Minneapolis asks $100 per room per day, up to $700. Check your hotel's policies page.

Does Hilton accept prepaid cards for the deposit?

It depends on the hotel. Hilton Minneapolis says prepaid cards are not accepted for its security deposit. Hilton's group payment pages name major credit and debit cards, and do not mention prepaid cards. Ask your hotel before you rely on one.

Does Hilton accept Alipay or WeChat Pay?

Yes, at hotels in China. Hilton's payment help page names WeChat Pay and Alipay there, in addition to Honors points and major credit or debit cards. These are mobile wallets that pay in local currency, not crypto payments. Outside China, plan on a card or Honors points.

When does Hilton charge my card?

It depends on the rate. Hilton charges the card at booking for Advance Purchase rates, bookings that need a deposit and cancellations after the deadline. With a flexible rate, Hilton charges you at check-out. A card hold for extras may apply at check-in either way.

Can I use Hilton Honors points instead of a card?

Yes, for the room. Hilton says you can pay for your stay with Honors points at all hotels, online and by phone. The hotel may still place a card hold for extras at check-in, so points do not replace the deposit.

Does StaySats ask for a card at checkout?

No. StaySats takes crypto only: BTC, USDT, USDC, ETH, SOL, LTC. There is no card, no ID upload and no selfie at checkout. Your balance is held, not charged, until the hotel confirmation number is issued. The hotel checks your ID at check-in, as local law requires.
